Blood supply
Rode Kruis-Vlaanderen is certified as a blood institution by Ministerial Decree of 30 November 2017 (RIZIV no. 7-95009-03 – 98-1001), as a laboratory for clinical biology (RIZIV no. 8-12650-16-998) and as intermediary structure (within the meaning of the Human Bodily Materials Act of 19 December 2008). Rode Kruis-Vlaanderen takes care of a number of applicants for international protection in Belgium on instruction of the federal government pursuant to the statute of 12 January 2017 on care for asylum seekers and of certain other categories of aliens.
