WADEM congress on disaster and emergency medicine

The WADEM congress on disaster and emergency medicine takes place from 25 to 28 April in Toronto, Canada.

In this meeting global experts will exchange knowledge and best practices on prehospital and in-hospital emergency medical care, disaster health and response, and emergency public health and safety.

The WADEM congress is an inter-professional worldwide gathering, hosting delegates from over 50 countries in addition to participation from organizations such as World Health Organization, International Red Cross/Crescent, Médecins Sans Frontières, Evidence Aid, and more.

The Red Cross and Red Crescent is present with delegates from the Belgian and Canadian Red Cross, the Magen David Adom, the International Federation and the International Committee of the Red Cross, giving presentation on Humantiarian Aid, emergency medicine and disaster preparedness.

The Belgian Red Cross is presenting 3 abstracts in the session on mass gatherings on the 28th:

These abstracts are based on data collected by the Belgian Red Cross in their first aid posts over the last 12 years, totalling more than 150.000 patient records.
