CEBaP goes virtual

28/09/20

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all international in-person scientific conferences have been cancelled. Luckily, the virus has not stopped the scientific community from sharing knowledge. Hence, many conferences are moving online. CEBaP and its sister organisation Cochrane First Aid will proudly contribute to two virtual conferences in October.

From 5 to 7 October, the Canadian Red Cross is hosting Survival 2020 - The International Red Cross First Aid, Injury Prevention and Aquatics Education Virtual Conference. On Wednesday October 7 at 6:30 pm (CEST), Jorien Laermans, one of our researchers who also acts as a coordinator of Cochrane First Aid, will present a live webinar on “Consulting, Interpreting & Using First Aid Research Evidence”. During this session, participants will be familiarized with different aspects of scientific research and learn about Cochrane First Aid. They should leave the webinar with increased knowledge, skills and confidence in how to retrieve, consult and interpret the results of first aid research. Moreover, they will know how Cochrane First Aid may help them to integrate the use of reliable evidence in their everyday first aid life.

From 22 to 24 October, the European Resuscitation Council is organising the Resuscitation 2020 Virtual Congress. Vere Borra, researcher at CEBaP and also coordinator of Cochrane First Aid, will moderate a one-hour scientific discussion on First Aid on Friday October 23 at 7:30 pm (CEST). Her pre-recorded presentation about the use of limited evidence in guideline development will be made available on the Congress website in advance. During the session, the speakers are available for live questions and discussions.
