CEBaP on the move: Sharing knowledge across borders

25/09/25

From 10 to 12 September, our team joined the European Conference on Donor Health and Management in the Netherlands. It was a great moment for Luce Mosselmans, who presented the very first results of her PhD project: a systematic review of modelling studies looking at the safety of relaxing blood donation deferral policies for men who have sex with men. The conference also offered plenty of inspiration, with engaging talks on preventing iron anaemia in frequent donors, innovative ways to recruit new donors, and strategies to make the donor pool more diverse and inclusive.

And the learning didn’t stop there. From 16 to 19 September, Hans Scheers and Pieter Severijns represented CEBaP at the Guidelines International Network (GIN) conference. They shared our experiences on prioritising topics for guideline updates, bringing in field perspectives when shaping research questions, and tackling questions where published evidence is still missing through a multidisciplinary lens.

We’re proud to see our team actively contributing to international discussions — whether it’s about donor health or evidence-based guideline development. Together, we’re helping shape better practices and policies, both in Belgium and abroad.
